Explanation of the composition
‡ IE/IU = International Units. IE/IUs are only used for vitamins A, D and E. The exact definition of 1 IE/IU varies per substance and is established in international agreements.
†RI stands for Reference Intake and replaces the RDA (Recommended Daily Allowance). RI is a guideline for the intake of vitamins and minerals in particular. RI and ADH are equal in number.

Every Day 50+ Capsules
Elke Dag 50+ is specially formulated for men and women aged 50 and older. As the body ages, its nutritional needs change. For example, the need for iron and copper decreases. That’s why Elke Dag 50+ contains no iron or copper.
What men and women in this age group *do* need is extra vitamin B12 and sufficient folic acid (folate), among other things, to support mental functions such as memory. Vitamin D3 and a higher dose of vitamin K2 are also important for this age group.
Elke Dag 50+ includes several special additions, such as four types of natural carotenoids (lutein, zeaxanthin, meso-zeaxanthin, lycopene), CoQ10, alpha-lipoic acid, hesperidin, pterostilbene, boron, and a new, highly absorbable form of silicon.
Capsules vs. Tablets
The Elke Dag 50+ Capsules are based on the composition of Elke Dag 50+ Tablets. Two capsules of this multivitamin closely match the composition of one Elke Dag 50+ Tablet, except for vitamin C, D3, calcium, and magnesium (due to space limitations). Elke Dag 50+ Capsules offer a great alternative for those who prefer not to take tablets for any reason. If desired, the capsules can be opened, and the contents can be mixed with cold foods or beverages.
Updated Formula
The composition of Elke Dag 50+ Capsules has recently been revised based on new scientific insights, the latest food consumption surveys, and regulatory developments. The dosage of some vitamins and minerals has been adjusted accordingly. Lycopene and a highly absorbable form of silicon have also been added. Calcium, manganese, and PQQ are no longer present in this formula.

Calcium
Elke Dag 50+ Capsules does not contain calcium because a meaningful dose of this important macromineral simply cannot fit into the capsule.
Therefore, it is recommended to use a calcium supplement alongside the 50+ capsules.
