Guar Bean Fibers

Vitakruid guar bean fibers are prebiotics in powder form, featuring the patented Sunfiber®. One package contains 450 grams of powder, which is sufficient for approximately 90 servings.

Guar Bean: A Soluble Fiber

Guar bean fibers belong to the group of soluble dietary fibers. This type of fiber dissolves in water to form a soft, gel-like substance in the intestines. Together with insoluble fibers (such as those found in wheat bran and whole grains), they form an essential part of a varied and fiber-rich diet.

The Guar Plant

The Guar plant (Cyamopsis tetragonoloba) originates from the arid regions of India. It is a particularly resilient crop that thrives with minimal resources, making it a sustainable choice for agriculture. For thousands of years, the beans and leaves of this plant have been a staple part of the local diet.

Galactomannan

The fibers in guar beans largely consist of galactomannan, a complex carbohydrate structure. Naturally, when galactomannan comes into contact with water, it forms a very thick, viscous mass. To make this fiber optimally usable for daily use, a special process is required.

Sunfiber®: The Science Behind the Fiber

Sunfiber® is produced via 'partial hydrolysis', a carefully controlled process. During this process, the naturally long fiber chains are shortened to an optimal length using natural enzymes. The result is the most clinically researched water-soluble fiber in the world.

Thanks to this specific chain length, Sunfiber® possesses unique properties:

  • Excellent solubility: Dissolves effortlessly in both cold and hot drinks.
  • Neutral character: No aftertaste, odor, or gritty texture.
  • Low viscosity: It does not become thick or sticky but remains clear and liquid.

Whether you mix it into water, a smoothie, yogurt, or a shake; the taste and texture of your food remain completely unchanged.

Certified Low-FODMAP

A significant advantage of Sunfiber® is its certification as low-FODMAP. Due to its excellent solubility and gentle processing, the fiber is very digestive-friendly. This makes the product highly suitable for individuals following a FODMAP-restricted diet or those who react sensitively to certain fermentable carbohydrates.

Sustainable Cultivation

The journey of Sunfiber® begins in the state of Rajasthan in Northwest India. Here, approximately 50,000 farming families cultivate the guar plant with respect for nature. The harvest takes place entirely by hand, after which the plants are sun-dried in the fields.

Only non-genetically modified crops (Non-GMO) are used. Through long-term collaborations with local communities in villages such as Mokheri, Sunfiber® provides not only a healthy product but also a stable future and a fair income for the farmers.

A Safe and Pure Production Process

After the harvest, quality is guaranteed through a high-tech production process:

1. Purification: The guar gum is dissolved in purified osmosis water.

2. Enzymatic hydrolysis: For thirteen hours, natural enzymes break down the fibers to the ideal length.

3. Sterilization and drying: The mixture is sterilized and processed into a fine white powder via spray-drying.

4. Quality control: Powerful magnetic filters remove any impurities, after which the powder is packaged under pharmaceutical supervision.

Each batch is provided with a unique code, making the fiber fully traceable from the Indian fields to the final packaging. Sunfiber® thus offers the perfect balance between ancient craftsmanship and modern science.
