Omega 3 jellies for children
Kids Omega 3 Plus Jellies from Vitals are chewable jellies with a pleasant taste. They are developed to contain a high dose of fish oil without creating an overpowering fish taste.
This makes one or two jellies per day enough for an effective omega 3 intake. The formula provides a high dose of DHA, the main omega 3 fatty acid for the brain and vision.
It also contains iodine for healthy growth and learning ability. Vitamin D supports the normal growth and development of children's bones. Vitamins C and D also support the immune system.
These jellies offer a simple daily addition to a healthy diet. They are also suitable for adults who prefer a tasty chewable supplement instead of capsules or tablets.
Daily nutritional support
Healthy development in children depends on love, a safe environment, exercise, sleep, and a healthy diet with enough vegetables and fruit.
In practice, both children and adults do not always get all required nutrients every day. This is especially true for vitamin D.
Vitamin D occurs only in small amounts in food. The body mainly produces it in the skin under the influence of sunlight.
In Western Europe, sunlight is often not strong enough in autumn and winter. That is why supplementation with vitamin D is a sensible choice for many children and adults.
DHA, EPA, and vitamin D
Intake of the fish fatty acids docosahexaenoic acid, or DHA, and eicosapentaenoic acid, or EPA, is also often too low because many children and adults do not like fish.
For that reason, Kids Omega 3 Plus Jellies contains a high amount of vitamin D3 and DHA, together with EPA, in each jelly.
The formula is also supplemented with iodine, an important trace element for growing children, and with a small amount of vitamin C for immune support.
DHA and vision
Each jelly contains 250 mg DHA and 50 mg EPA. DHA is a polyunsaturated omega 3 fatty acid and an important structural component of nerve tissue in the brain.
DHA is also part of the retina in the eye. The retina develops from brain tissue during fetal development and remains structurally part of the central nervous system.
The retina contains nerve cells with a high level of DHA in their membranes. It captures light and converts it into electrical signals that travel to the brain through the optic nerve.
DHA is therefore important for brain function and vision in both children and adults.
DHA intake and fish oil quality
The body can convert only a limited amount of DHA from alpha-linolenic acid, or ALA. That is why daily intake of enough DHA through fish or a supplement with at least 250 mg DHA is important.
Because omega 3 fatty acids are vulnerable during processing, it is wise to choose high-quality fish oil from reputable suppliers.
That is the case with Kids Omega 3 Plus Jellies. The omega 3 fatty acids in this product are present only in triglyceride form because this form is absorbed best.
Vitamin D and resistance
For all children up to and including 3 years of age, the Health Council advises supplementation with 10 mcg vitamin D per day.
For older children whose skin gets too little sunlight, and for children with darker skin, the current government advice is also to use a daily vitamin D supplement.
During the darker autumn and winter months, vitamin D production in the skin is often too low. In that period, supplementation is important for many children and adults.
Vitamin D is best known for supporting strong and healthy bones because it helps improve calcium absorption from food.
Bones, teeth, and immunity
This is especially important in children because their skeleton is still developing. Vitamin D also contributes to strong teeth.
In addition, it has a positive effect on the immune system of children. Each jelly also contains a small amount of vitamin C to support resistance.
Iodine and growth
Iodine is another important trace element. It occurs naturally in seaweed, fish, and shellfish.
It is also added to salt that is used, among other things, for baking bread. This is done because iodine intake in Western Europe is relatively low.
This approach works only when people eat enough bread, and that is not always the case. A supplement can therefore be useful.
Iodine is important for the normal function of the thyroid gland. It also contributes to cognitive function, learning ability, concentration, and normal growth in children.
Jelly technology
Kids Omega 3 Plus Jellies contains a safe dose of 22.5 μg iodine per jelly. These jellies were developed together with the Norwegian producer Vitux.
Jellies are becoming more popular because they taste pleasant and can contain more active ingredients than gummies.
For fat-like nutrients such as omega 3 fatty acids, jellies offer another advantage. The patented ConCordix production process distributes the fatty acids into very small droplets.
This helps the body absorb them even more easily. This process is inspired by the way the body itself emulsifies dietary fats.
Protection and taste
The jelly form, together with a special double aluminum packaging, gives excellent protection against oxidation of the sensitive omega 3 fatty acids.
Despite the high amounts of fish oil and other nutrients, these jellies have a very pleasant taste.
Kids Omega 3 Plus Jellies from Vitals shows that a supplement can be both nutritious and pleasant to take.
