Explanation of the composition

Heart and vessel formula
Hart en Vaatformule Pro is a formula based on a vitamin complex, combined with phytonutrients from grape seed and olive.
Vitamin B1 and grape seed extract support the heart. Vitamin C and grape seed extract also help maintain flexible blood vessels.
The formula also contains a high dose of alpha-lipoic acid and co-enzyme Q10. This makes it a useful daily addition to a varied, balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle.
Vitamins and energy metabolism
Vitamins are nutrients that the body needs only in small amounts. Even so, they are essential for normal body function.
Most vitamins act as cofactors in processes that involve enzymes. Vitamin B1, vitamin B3, and vitamin B12 help support enzymes involved in energy metabolism.
Vitamin B1, also called thiamine, is especially important for energy production from carbohydrates. Because the heart depends mainly on carbohydrates for energy, vitamin B1 supports the normal function of the heart.
Folate, vitamin B12, and homocysteine
Homocysteine is an intermediate substance formed when the amino acid methionine is converted into cysteine. This is a normal process that takes place often in the body.
Homocysteine should not build up. To prevent this, the body must convert it back into methionine or break it down further into cysteine.
Several micronutrients are involved in homocysteine metabolism. Folate and vitamin B12 are two of the most important.
Vitamin B12 works together with 5-methyltetrahydrofolate, or 5-MTHF, which is the biologically active form of folate.
Active forms
The vitamin B12 in Hart en Vaatformule Pro consists of the two biologically active forms methylcobalamin and adenosylcobalamin, also called dibencozide.
The formula also contains Quatrefolic®, a biologically active folate form. This is 5-methyltetrahydrofolate bound to a plant-based glucosamine salt.
This is the most stable form of 5-MTHF in supplements and has the highest bioavailability. The advantage of these active forms is that the body can use them directly.
Vitamin C and blood vessels
Vitamin C plays an important role in collagen production. Collagen is a protein that forms part of several types of connective tissue in the body.
Blood vessels also contain a large amount of collagen. This helps keep them flexible and elastic.
Vitamin C therefore helps maintain the condition of the blood vessels. Hart en Vaatformule Pro contains a high dose of vitamin C as magnesium ascorbate.
This non-acidic form of vitamin C is also well tolerated by people with a sensitive stomach.
Vitamin D and vitamin E
Vitamin D is produced in the body under the influence of sunlight. When sunlight is limited, it is important to get enough vitamin D in another way.
Vitamin D supports the normal function of the immune system. It also supports muscle function, including that of the heart muscle.
Hart en Vaatformule Pro contains a plant-based form of vitamin D3 from algae. This makes the product suitable for vegans.
Vitamin E is a fat-soluble antioxidant. It helps protect cells and tissues against oxidative damage caused by free radicals.
Olive and grape seed extracts
Hart en Vaatformule Pro contains hydroxytyrosol, one of the main compounds in olives. This polyphenol is known as a strong plant antioxidant that helps protect blood lipids.
LDL cholesterol in particular is sensitive to oxidation. Protection against oxidative damage is important for its normal function.
The olive extract Hytolive® from Genosa contains a high level of hydroxytyrosol. It is produced naturally from olives grown in Spain.
The formula also contains grape seed extract rich in proanthocyanidins. In addition to their antioxidant activity, these compounds help support the heart, blood vessels, and normal blood pressure.
Q10 and alpha-lipoic acid
Q10, also called co-enzyme Q10, is a substance the body produces itself. It is present in all cells, in the mitochondria.
This fat-soluble compound is also called ubiquinone, a name that refers to its widespread presence in the body. The body gets Q10 from both its own production and from food.
Under certain conditions, the body's own production may not be enough to meet demand. Hart en Vaatformule Pro provides a daily addition of 200 mg co-enzyme Q10.
Alpha-lipoic acid is a sulfur-containing fatty acid that occurs naturally in the mitochondria of every cell. Because of its ring structure, it dissolves in both fat and water. The formula provides 200 mg alpha-lipoic acid per daily serving of two capsules.
