Explanation of the composition

Elke Dag Sport is a multivitamin for serious athletes, including elite athletes. For anyone who trains seriously, it is important to know what you take in every day.
That means knowing the ingredients and nutritional values of your food, but also the composition and quality of your supplements.

Same formula, extra testing
Elke Dag Sport has exactly the same composition as Elke Dag Tablets, the most popular multivitamin from Vitals.
The only difference is the name and the fact that every batch of Elke Dag Sport is checked and certified under the NZVT system.
It is a one-a-day tablet for adults aged 18 and over. The formula contains essential vitamins, minerals, and selected additional nutrients.
It is designed as a broad daily supplement for athletes, with well-absorbed ingredients, suitable forms, balanced ratios, and carefully chosen dosages.
Tested for doping
Elke Dag Sport is tested for doping under the NZVT system, the Dutch safety system for supplements used in elite sport.
This system is designed to minimise the risk of a positive doping test. Every newly produced batch of Elke Dag Sport is checked through this procedure.
Products tested under NZVT offer the highest level of assurance that they do not contain doping-related substances.
In the NZVT database, you can check whether the product was tested by using the batch code and best-before date.
Broad support for athletes
The formula is based on recent scientific insights, current data on the nutritional status of adults in the Netherlands, and optimal intake levels per nutrient.
It provides broad nutritional support with substantial but responsible dosages. Several ingredients are especially relevant for athletes.
These include calcium, magnesium, B vitamins, vitamin D3, vitamin K1, vitamin K2, iron, choline, vitamin C, and Q10.
Calcium and magnesium
The formula contains relatively high amounts of calcium at 150 mg and magnesium at 100 mg. That is especially useful for athletes.
Both minerals play a role in the activity of enzymes involved in energy metabolism and help support energy levels.
Magnesium is part of the magnesium-ATP complex and is needed to release energy from ATP, the cell's energy carrier.
Calcium and magnesium also support nerve signalling and normal muscle function, including the function of the heart muscle.
Energy, muscles, and bones
Both minerals help maintain strong bones. Magnesium can also help reduce fatigue and tired muscles.

B vitamins in active forms
Elke Dag Sport contains substantial but responsible amounts of B vitamins. The formula reflects daily needs, average intake, conversion in the body, scientific insights, and safe upper limits.
It contains the biologically active forms of vitamin B2, B6, B12, and folate. These are the forms the body uses directly.
Vitamin B2 is included as riboflavin-5'-phosphate. Vitamin B6 is included as pyridoxal-5'-phosphate.
Vitamin B12 is included as methylcobalamin and adenosylcobalamin. Folate is included as 5-methyltetrahydrofolate glucosamine salt.
B vitamins for sport
Vitamin B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B12, and biotin are involved in energy metabolism and help support energy levels.
Vitamin B2, B3, B5, B6, B12, and folate can help reduce fatigue.
Vitamin B1 supports the heart. Vitamin B6, B12, and folate support the normal function of the immune system.

Plant-based vitamin D3
Elke Dag Sport provides 25 µg vitamin D3 as cholecalciferol. This form raises vitamin D levels more effectively than vitamin D2.
The formula uses plant-based vitamin D3, Vitamin D3V®, sourced from algae rather than sheep's wool grease.
Vitamin D has many functions in the body. Receptors for vitamin D have been found in more than 30 types of tissues and organs, including immune cells, muscles, and bones.
In muscles, vitamin D helps promote protein synthesis, which is important for normal muscle function.
Vitamin K1 and K2
Elke Dag Sport contains vitamin K1 and a high dosage of vitamin K2.
Vitamin K1 is absorbed mainly by the liver and mainly supports the activation of clotting factors.
Vitamin K2 has greater biological availability and is distributed more widely through body tissues.
That makes it more effective in activating vitamin K-dependent proteins such as osteocalcin and MGP.
Iron and choline
These proteins help calcium be absorbed properly and reach the right place in the body, namely the bones.
Iron supports the formation of haemoglobin in red blood cells and therefore contributes to oxygen transport in the body.
It also acts as a cofactor in electron transport in the mitochondria, which is essential for the production of cellular energy as ATP.
Because of this, iron supports energy metabolism and energy levels and can help reduce fatigue.
Higher choline dosage
Elke Dag Sport contains 85 mg choline. Choline is also an important structural component of cell membranes as part of phospholipids such as phosphatidylcholine and sphingomyelin.
Vitamin C and Q10
Elke Dag Sport contains 160 mg vitamin C from magnesium ascorbate. Vitamin C supports the normal function of the immune system and supports resistance.
It can also help reduce fatigue and contribute to feeling fit.
Q10 is produced by the body and also obtained from food. It is found in the mitochondria, the energy centres of cells.
Under certain conditions, the body's own production of Q10 may not fully cover requirements, which makes intake from food more important. For that reason, Q10 is considered a semi-essential nutrient.
