Explanation of the composition

Suggested use

Elementair Zinc & Copper
Elementair Zinc & Copper is based on concentrated mineral drops, or CMD. This is a special seawater concentrate from the Great Salt Lake in Utah, USA. It contains a full spectrum of minerals and trace elements, with almost all sodium removed.
In this product, extra zinc is added in the form of zinc sulfate, and extra copper is added in the form of copper gluconate. The product is made through a traditional and natural concentration process that uses the sun.
Ionic form and absorption
The minerals and trace elements in Elementair Zinc & Copper are present in dissolved and ionic form, as electrolytes. This means they are not bound to other elements, but exist as separate electrically charged particles.
For example, when magnesium chloride dissolves in water, it splits into Mg2+ ions and Cl- ions. In the body, minerals also occur in this way in fluids such as blood plasma and other intra- and extracellular fluids.
Because of this ionic form, minerals are well absorbed.
Roles in the body
Zinc is present in all body tissues and is found in high amounts in the cell nucleus. It is essential for the activity of more than 300 enzymes. These metalloenzymes use a zinc ion as a cofactor. Zinc is also an important structural part of proteins and cell membranes.
Through these functions, zinc is involved in many processes in the body. It plays a role in cell division, hormone balance, and the normal metabolism of carbohydrates, fats, proteins, and DNA.
Zinc also supports the immune system. It helps support the production of T cells, helps with the production of cytokines, and contributes to the function of natural killer cells.
Cell protection and balance
Zinc also helps protect cells against oxidative damage. It supports the function of antioxidant enzymes such as catalase and superoxide dismutase.
In addition, zinc contributes to a healthy acid-base balance. It acts as a cofactor for the enzyme carbonic anhydrase. This enzyme helps convert carbon dioxide into bicarbonate and back again.
Bicarbonate is one of the main buffers that help keep the acidity of blood and other extracellular fluids as stable as possible.
Functions of copper
Copper is part of several enzymes. It helps support the activity of enzymes involved in releasing energy from fats, carbohydrates, and proteins.
It also contributes to the maintenance of normal connective tissues in the skin, cartilage, and blood vessels. This is linked to its role in the formation of elastin and collagen, which are key parts of connective tissue.
Zinc and copper are antagonists. A high intake of zinc, 50 mg or more per day, over a longer period of more than one month can lead to low copper status. In this product, zinc and copper are combined.
