High-purity creatine monohydrate
Creatine-CV from Vitals contains Creavitalis®, a highly pure creatine monohydrate from the German manufacturer Alzchem.
Creavitalis® is the micronized version of Creapure®, one of the best-known creatine ingredients used in scientific research. The creatine produced by Alzchem is widely used in studies because of its high purity and consistent quality.
Role of creatine in energy metabolism
Creatine occurs naturally in all vertebrates. The name creatine comes from the Greek word kreas, which means meat.
This molecule plays a key role in cellular energy metabolism. For this reason it mainly occurs in tissues that use large amounts of energy, such as skeletal muscle.
Creatine is a semi-essential nutrient. The body can synthesize it in the liver and kidneys from the amino acids arginine, glycine, and methionine.
This production does not always fully meet the body’s needs. Dietary intake therefore also contributes to creatine levels.
Creatine in food and supplements
Dietary creatine comes from animal sources such as meat, fish, and poultry.
People who follow vegetarian or vegan diets usually consume less creatine from food.
Creatine used in supplements is produced synthetically and does not come from animal sources. This makes creatine supplements suitable for vegetarians and vegans.
Creatine and short high-intensity exercise
Inside muscle cells creatine can convert into creatine phosphate under the influence of the enzyme creatine kinase.
The phosphate group can transfer to ADP to form ATP, the main energy carrier in cells.
This process supports rapid energy supply during short, high-intensity exercise such as sprinting and strength training.
Creatine supplementation also supports the effect of resistance training on muscle strength.
Maintaining muscle strength becomes increasingly important from the age of 55. Regular strength training helps support muscle function and mobility.
Micronized creatine from Alzchem
Creatine monohydrate is the most widely used form of creatine in supplements. Research shows that this form is effective and well absorbed.
Standard creatine monohydrate dissolves poorly in water-based liquids.
To improve this property Alzchem developed micronized creatine monohydrate with the brand name Creavitalis®.
Micronization reduces particle size to the micrometer range. The smaller particles dissolve more easily in liquids.
Creavitalis® retains the same high purity and quality as Creapure® and offers similar effectiveness.
The powder has a neutral taste and can be mixed easily with water.
Doping-tested for competitive sports
For athletes it is important to know exactly which substances they consume.
Creatine-CV is tested according to the NZVT system, the Dutch anti-doping certification program for sports supplements.
This program analyzes supplements to minimize the risk of positive doping tests.
Each new production batch of Creatine-CV undergoes testing under this system.
The NZVT database allows users to verify testing status using the batch code and expiration date.
Health effects
- Supports muscle growth during explosive strength efforts*
- Improves physical performance in repeated short, high-intensity exercise*
- Can be used when athletes have increased creatine needs*
- Daily creatine intake may enhance the effect of strength training in adults over 55**
* The beneficial effect is obtained with a daily intake of 3 g (3000 mg) creatine in combination with high-intensity training.
** The beneficial effect is obtained with a daily intake of 3 g (3000 mg) creatine combined with resistance training at least three times per week at an intensity of 65–75% of maximum strength.
