Recommended folic acid intake during pregnancy

Midwives recommend a daily intake of 400 mcg folic acid during pregnancy. Low folate status in the mother increases the risk of neural tube defects in the developing fetus. Folic acid also supports placenta formation and fetal growth.

Choline for mother and baby

Breast milk naturally contains high levels of choline because newborn babies cannot produce enough choline themselves. Pregnancy and breastfeeding therefore increase choline needs. Based on recent scientific findings, the European Food Safety Authority recommends higher intake levels during these periods. Multi Dag® Mama supplies 110 mg choline per daily dose.

B vitamins support energy and vitality

The formula includes a complete vitamin B complex. B vitamins support normal energy metabolism, help concentration, support immune function, and help reduce fatigue.

Vitamin B6 in its safest form

Supplements use two forms of vitamin B6: pyridoxine and P5P. Research shows that high intake side effects often link to pyridoxine. Multi Dag® Mama therefore uses only P5P, the safer form, and applies safe dosage levels. Each daily dose contains 1.8 mg vitamin B6, far below the accepted upper limit of 21 mg.

Active vitamin B12 for direct use

The body converts various vitamin B12 forms into methylcobalamin, the active form. Conversion efficiency differs per person. Multi Dag® Mama therefore provides active B12 forms that the body can use immediately.
