GABA and nutrition

GABA, or gamma-aminobutyric acid, is a neurotransmitter that occurs naturally in food. Sources include leafy greens, soybeans, broad beans, nuts, seeds, tomatoes, and eggs. The body can also produce GABA from the amino acid glutamine.

Glutamine as a precursor

Glutamine is mainly present in protein-rich foods such as meat, fish, dairy products, eggs, soy, and other legumes. It also occurs in vegetables such as spinach, cabbage, Brussels sprouts, and beets.

Cofactors for conversion

Dietary proteins convert into glutamine, which then serves as a building block for GABA. This conversion requires essential cofactors such as vitamins and minerals. One key cofactor in this process is vitamin B1. For this reason, the GABA Plus formula contains 2 mg vitamin B1.

Vitamin B1 supports mood

Vitamin B1, provided as thiamine HCL, supports normal nervous system function and supports mood. It also supports memory, concentration, and learning ability.

Sublingual tablet allows a lower dose

GABA Plus uses sublingual tablets that absorb quickly through the oral mucosa. This allows a lower dose of 250 mg.

For full absorption, place the tablet under the tongue for at least 10 minutes. This helps all nutrients reach the bloodstream. The natural strawberry flavor provides a pleasant taste.
