Natural sources of GABA
GABA, or gamma-aminobutyric acid, is a neurotransmitter found in several foods. Sources include leafy greens, soybeans, broad beans, nuts, seeds, tomatoes, and eggs.
Glutamine as a building block
The body can also produce GABA from the amino acid glutamine. Glutamine occurs mainly in protein-rich foods such as meat, fish, dairy products, eggs, soy, and other legumes. It is also present in vegetables such as spinach, cabbage, Brussels sprouts, and beets.
Cofactors needed for conversion
Proteins from food convert into glutamine, which the body then uses to form GABA. This process requires cofactors such as vitamins and minerals. Vitamin B1 is one of the key cofactors for this conversion. For this reason, the formula contains 1.5 mg vitamin B1.
Vitamin B1 supports mood
Vitamin B1, provided in the well-absorbed form thiamine HCL, supports normal nervous system function and supports mood. It also supports memory, concentration, and learning performance.
Capsules for ease of use
Sublingual tablets absorb faster through the oral mucosa. For this reason, GABA Plus is often the first recommendation. Some people prefer capsules for daily use. GABA in capsule form is easy to take and suitable for regular use.
