King of carotenoids
Astaxanthin is one of the most powerful antioxidants found in nature. Algae, plankton, and several micro-organisms produce this substance. Astaxanthin belongs to the carotenoids. Carotenoids are natural pigments that give many fruits and vegetables their yellow, orange, and red colors.
The richest natural source of astaxanthin is Haematococcus pluvialis. People also call this algae the blood rain algae because of its deep red color. Animals that eat this algae can develop a distinct pink-red color. Examples include salmon, lobster, crab, trout, and shrimp. Some birds also get this pigment, such as flamingos.
An important role in nature
Algae produce astaxanthin to protect themselves from stress. This includes dry conditions and strong sunlight during summer. This protection helps the algae protect their DNA. When conditions improve, the algae can grow again.
It is also known that astaxanthin helps salmon swim up to 3,000 kilometers against the current. In birds, high levels of astaxanthin are found in the eyes.

Produced in a 100% natural way
For our product, we chose AstaPure®. AstaPure® is a highly sustainable astaxanthin source. It is produced under natural conditions at a GMP-certified site in the Arava Desert in Israel.
This region has a stable climate. It has strong sunlight all year round and clean air. It is also free from many pollutants. The remote desert location also means the algae cultivation does not replace farmland.
A fully sustainable production process
The full production process uses solar energy. The process also uses underground seawater, so it does not require drinking water. This water is then recycled for 80%. This makes the AstaPure® process fully sustainable.
A green phase and a red phase
Production takes place in two phases. These phases copy how astaxanthin builds up in nature. In the green phase, the algae grow under ideal natural conditions. This helps the algae grow as much as possible.
In the red phase, the algae face harsh conditions. As a defense response, the algae produce astaxanthin.

The highest astaxanthin purity
AstaPure® is produced from the Haematococcus pluvialis algae. This algae contains the most concentrated natural form of astaxanthin. The remote production site in the Arava Desert also supports high purity.
AstaPure® contains 95% astaxanthin from the total carotenoids extracted from the algae.
NAXA® and USDA® certified
Our astaxanthin is free from plastics, environmental pollutants, synthetic preservatives, and heavy metals. The production uses CO2 extraction technology, so no solvent is needed. Our astaxanthin is NAXA® and USDA® certified.
Use for anti-aging support
Astaxanthin can be used for anti-aging support. It can help reduce visible signs of aging. This carotenoid can also support the appearance of the skin. Astaxanthin helps maintain skin elasticity and softness. This supports natural skin rejuvenation.
