A unique combination of Specialised Pro-Resolving Mediators (SPMs), EPA and DHA
Thorne Pro-Resolving Mediators is a unique concentrate of marine lipids/fats containing a combination of Specialised Pro-Resolving Mediators (SPMs) and the omega-3 fatty acids EPA and DHA. The formula contains a highly concentrated blend of natural lipids and has been developed to supplement the daily intake of omega-3 fatty acids.
What are Specialised Pro-Resolving Mediators (SPMs)?
SPMs are specialised substances that the body produces itself from the omega-3 fatty acids EPA and DHA. They form part of the natural processes involved in maintaining balance (homeostasis) within the body.
As well as EPA and DHA, Thorne Pro-Resolving Mediators also contains three pre-resolving mediators: 17-HDHA, 14-HDHA and 18-HEPE. These are precursors that the body uses as part of the natural conversion process of omega-3 fatty acids.
What makes Thorne Pro-Resolving Mediators special?
Unlike standard omega-3 supplements, which mainly provide EPA and DHA, this formula also contains pre-resolving mediators. As a result, the supplement combines the well-known omega-3 fatty acids with specific precursors from the natural metabolic process.
