Magnesium Bisglycinate Powder
Thorne Magnesium Bisglycinate contains 200 mg of highly pure and palatable magnesium bisglycinate in powder form per daily dose.
Pleasant Taste
Unlike many other soluble magnesium powders, Thorne's Magnesium Bisglycinate has a pleasant taste thanks to natural fruit concentrate, making it more enjoyable to take with water.
(Bis)glycinate
In magnesium bisglycinate, the magnesium molecule is bound to two glycine molecules (glycine is an amino acid). These bindings allow this form of magnesium to easily pass through stomach acid and reach the small intestine intact.
Both the term magnesium glycinate and magnesium bisglycinate are used by manufacturers (including Thorne). This can sometimes be confusing, but they refer to the same thing.
When and What to Use It For?
Thorne magnesium bisglycinate powder is an excellent all-round magnesium product. Due to its binding to glycine (an amino acid and neurotransmitter), the bisglycinate form is particularly suitable for intake before sleep. Taking it at another time of day does not lead to drowsiness.
