Look at 'mg' per capsule or drop, not '%'

Don't be fooled by the percentage designations for CBD oil and capsules. Why percentages are often used in CBD oil supplements instead of mg (milligrams) is not entirely clear. This may be due to the fact that the people producing the oil have to produce oils with a certain percentage of CBD. The manufacturer simply adopts this and lists 5% or 15% large on the packaging.

However, this says nothing about how much CBD you are actually ingesting. One pipette is not the other and some oils are more liquid than others. Because of this, one drop of a 15% oil does not necessarily contain three times as much as one drop of a 5% oil.

5% stronger than 16%?

And with capsules, it's even more impossible to compare. One capsule contains a 16% oil and another brand's capsule contains a 5% oil. The 16% seems more than three times as strong. But in reality it then turns out that the 5% contains four times as much CBD as the 16%. How is that possible?

The 16% oil is in very small capsules and the 5% oil is in regular capsules, which contain about 12 times as much CBD oil as the small capsules. But of course 16 (%) looks much nicer on the packaging than 6 (mg).

Look at dosage in 'mg' per drop or capsule

When buying CBD oil or capsules, therefore, do not look at the strength in percentages (%), but only at the number of milligrams (mg) per drop or capsule. Only then can you compare different supplements.

THC-free CBD oil

CBD is not psychoactive and thus has no mind-altering effects. The substance from the hemp plant that does have psychoactive effects is called THC, which is not found in CBD oil. Provided the oil is of high quality.

Guaranteed quantity of CBD

It is not only important to make sure that it is free of THC, but more importantly that it contains enough CBD. There are products on the market that contain dozens of times less than they state.

It's available everywhere. Kruidvat, Etos, even supermarkets and many other stores sell CBD oil. But depending on where you buy it, it is not always clear what the quality of the oil is and how many active ingredients it contains. So pay close attention to this when buying CBD oil.

From Austria

Wedihemp from Austria is among the highest quality CBD brands.

It is true that hemp grown in Austria is of better quality than hemp grown in most other countries. But this is not the main reason for Wedihemp's high quality.

CBG and CBN oil

CBG

CBG stands for Cannabigerol. It is one of the many cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant (more than 100). We have two liquid CBG oil supplements in our range:

CBN stands for Cannabinol and is yet another cannabinoid. CBN is a non-psychoactive oxidation product of THC.

What is CBD oil?

Cannabis plants contain hundreds of different compounds. About 100 of these are called cannabinoids. The best-known cannabinoid is THC, the active compound in cannabis and hash. This psychoactive substance makes people feel high. Another key cannabinoid from the cannabis plant is CBD, or cannabidiol. This compound has no psychoactive effect, so it does not make you high. The taste of CBD is best described as nutty.

How is CBD oil made?

Most plants used for CBD oil are grown on organic farms in the Netherlands, as well as in countries such as Slovenia and Austria. Farmers focus on achieving the highest possible CBD content in the hemp or cannabis plants. These plants can be grown legally because they contain no THC. But how is the oil actually produced?

Cannabidiol is extracted from the flowers and leaves of hemp or cannabis plants using CO₂ extraction. After this extraction process, a paste remains. Hemp seed oil is then added to this paste. This turns it into an oil that is easier to dose.

What are the best products?

All products we sell are tested. The same quality standards that apply to our other supplements also apply to these products. Another difference lies in dosage and concentration. Higher concentrations work faster and have a broader effect than products with a lower concentration.

What is CBDa?

Cannabidiolic acid, abbreviated as CBDa, is the raw acid form of cannabidiol and occurs naturally in cannabis plants. Structurally, it is similar to cannabidiol, but CBDa contains a carboxyl group. Just as THC is formed from THCa, CBD is formed from CBDa. This process usually occurs after drying or heating the plant material, also known as decarboxylation.

There are two extraction methods to obtain CBD from the hemp plant: heating or supercritical CO₂ extraction. After heating, the oil contains the cannabinoid CBD, along with proteins from hemp, vitamin A and E, carotene, and omega-3 and omega-6.

With CO₂ extraction, several acids are preserved. This means the oil contains multiple types of cannabinoids, including CBG, CBN, and CBGa. Terpenes, flavonoids, and phenols also remain present in a CO₂ extract.

How fast does it work?

CBD works quickly, and some people notice an effect within 15 minutes.

For best results, use it consistently for several weeks.

Is it legal?

Yes. Because these products contain no THC, they are 100% legal in the Netherlands and in most other European countries.

Do you also ship to Belgium?

Yes. It is made from hemp and is legal in Belgium and in most other European countries.

Can it make you high or stoned?

You cannot get high or stoned because it contains no THC. It can even be used safely by children.

How many drops or capsules should I use?

Usage can vary per person and per product. You can contact us for advice tailored to your intended use. After that, the dosage can be adjusted as needed. Also read the information provided with the product itself for usage guidance.

What is the best way to take CBD oil?

Shake the bottle well before each use so the cannabidiol, which often settles at the bottom, mixes evenly. Place a few drops under the tongue by gently squeezing the pipette. Hold it in the mouth for several seconds so it can be absorbed through the oral mucosa. After about one minute, you can swallow any remaining oil. The oil drips best at room temperature. The higher the CBD percentage, the thicker the product becomes.

How long does the oil keep?

It is best stored in a cool, dark place. Under these conditions, the oil keeps for at least one year. Keep in mind that cold storage increases viscosity. For this reason, use it preferably at room temperature.

Hemp seed oil as a healthy addition

Most of our products also contain hemp seed oil, a natural product made from cold-pressed hemp seeds. Cold pressing preserves valuable essential components such as minerals, vitamin B and E, omega-3 fatty acids, proteins, and carotene.

Does it have side effects?

No side effects are known when used normally.

Does it interact with medication?

CBD is a very safe molecule and can be used by almost everyone. Still, it is important to be well informed about possible interactions and contraindications with medication.

Cannabidiol is processed by the same enzyme system as many conventional medicines, known as cytochrome P450. When the P450 enzyme processes more than one substance at the same time, metabolism can speed up, slow down, or stop working effectively. This can make a substance stronger or weaker and may increase the risk of side effects.

CBD oil is known to interact, among other things, with medication for blood pressure.

Can pets use it too?

Dogs, cats, and other pets can also use CBD oil. The required amount depends on their weight. The heavier the animal, the higher the dose. At the start, you can use a dose of 1 mg CBD per kg of body weight. The oil can be mixed with your pet's food.
